Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully as they affect your rights and liabilities under the law. They together with our current website prices, delivery details, contact details and privacy policy set the whole of our agreement relating to the supply of the goods to you by us.

By using the food-basics.co.uk website (‘Food Basics website’) and/or placing an order with us you are deemed to accept these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with these Terms and Conditions, please do not use register for or use the Food Basics website.

To use any service provided on the Food Basics website, you required to register as an authorised user.

We reserve the right to change or vary these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any such change will take effect immediately upon posted on the Food Basics website.

It is your responsibility to read the Terms and Conditions each time you use the Food Basics website. If you not wish to accept any new Terms and Conditions after they come into effect, you should not continue to use the Food Basics website.

By continuing to use the Food Basics website after any changes shall indicate your agreement to accept any new Terms and Conditions.


In these Terms and Conditions:

you’, ‘your’ means the person or party using the Website
Food Basics website’, ‘Website’ means food-basics.co.uk as operated by us
working day’ means any day other than a Saturday, Sunday and a bank holiday in England and Wales.

1. Registration
1.1 You must be over 18 years old and must complete the registration procedure to participate in the Food Basics website service.
1.2 You must ensure your details provided on registration or at any time are correct.
1.3 You must inform us immediately of any changes to your details by updating your personal details.

2. Pricing and Product Availability
2.1 The prices of shown on the Food Basics website are guided price inclusive of any VAT which may apply but exclusive of delivery charge.
2.2 We reserve the right to change prices or to withdraw products at any time prior to despatch. We will use our reasonable endeavours to ensure that all products are available. However, products are displayed on this website subject to availability.
2.3 The pricing structure on the website is managed independently to our retail store. For accurate pricing and stock availability please contact the store directly.

3. Payment
3.1 We do not accept payment by cash, cheque or postal order. We only accept Mastercard or Visa credit card, Switch, Maestro or Delta debit card.
3.2 Goods with age restrictions may only be paid for by Credit Card.
3.3 During checkout, you authorise your payment via our online payment facility. Payment will usually be taken on the day or the day after following receipt of your order but only after orders has been checked.
3.4 Ownership of the goods shall only pass to you on delivery of the goods. This means that you shall be responsible for all loss or damage or deterioration of the goods.
3.5 We use Stripe Pay to collect/process transaction information. For more information see Stripe Pay security policy.

4. Despatch
4.1 Orders are normally despatched within 24 hours upon receipt of the order subject to having received payment of the goods depending on which delivery option you have chosen.
4.2 Any order made after 1pm  and on any other day that is not a working day shall be despatched on the next working day.
4.3 Cut off time for same day despatch is 1pm
4.4 Any orders which are made on the Friday will not be delivered until the next working day (Normally Monday).
4.5 Goods shall be delivered to the shipping address specified by you on the completed order form.
4.6 While we make every effort to deliver the goods in accordance with stated delivery dates you should note that we do not guarantee the time or date of despatch.

5. Delivery Charge and Delivery
5.1 You are responsible for the accuracy of the delivery information provided by you, for ensuring that someone over the age of 18 is available at the delivery address to sign a receipt for the goods or for the collection of the goods from our carrier’s nearest depot. You may specify a delivery address other than your home address. Please note that for security reasons, certain education establishments restrict the area on campus that multi-drop carriers are allowed to enter.5.2 The goods will be deemed to have been delivered in accordance with our obligations if they are delivered to the specified address or a security area and a receipt is signed by someone at the said address or security area. Delivery will also occur if you collect the goods from our carrier and sign for them. The said signatures will be conclusive evidence of delivery for the purpose of the contract.

5.3 The delivery charge specified during Checkout includes the cost of any packaging. Delivery schedules are shown in working days excluding Saturday, Sunday and bank holiday unless a Saturday delivery is specified by you and accepted by us.

5.4 We do not guarantee that all delivery services are available to all parts of the United Kingdom and we do not provide delivery outside the United Kingdom except by special arrangement. Delivery times are given for guidance only and we are not responsible for delays caused by matters beyond our reasonable control.

5.5 If you fail to accept delivery of or fail to collect the goods within a reasonable time, we reserve the right to recover any wasted delivery and re-delivery charges from you or from the payment that you have already made in respect of the goods.

6. Amendment of orders
6.1 We reserve the right to cancel your order if payment is not received or received on time.
6.2 You may request an amendment to an order prior to the despatch of your existing order by e-mail, telephone or fax with your revised order quoting your unique reference number.
6.3 Your order will be placed on hold until we agree to amend your order. We reserve the right to cancel or refuse an amended order.

7. Returns/Exchange
7.1 A request for a return or exchange of goods can only be accepted within 7 working days from the date of the invoice, subject to the following.
7.2 Any returns or exchanges can only be accepted if they are authorised by us.
7.3 All goods must be returned in their original, unopened and unused condition together with their original packaging.
7.3 Unless condition 7.1 applies, you remain responsible for the delivery charge and this will be deducted from your payment before payment is refunded to you.
7.4 Goods must be returned to us within 7 working days through our carrier who will contact you to make arrangements. Alternatively, you may return goods, at your cost, to us at Food Basics Ltd, 28 Queensway, London, W2 3RX.
7.5 You are liable for the original delivery charge and the re-delivery charge and we reserve the right to deduct these from your payment or to recover the same from. If you do not return the goods to us after cancellation, we reserve the right to collect the goods from you and charge you direct costs of recovery. Refunds will be provided using the same payment type by which your order was made. Please allow 30 days from the date of cancellation for the refund to be issued provided that you return the goods to us within 7 days of the date of cancellation.
7.6 We reserve the right to refuse any return and/or exchange due to any reasonable and or unethical reason, and or if you fail to comply with the above terms.

8. Complaints Procedure
8.1 We will at all times try to provide you with good service. In the event you are dissatisfied with any part of our service, please put your complaints in writing by email or post
8.2 We will advise you of our findings and let you know the proposed action we propose to take in assisting your compliant.

9. Liability
9.1 If the goods we deliver are not what you ordered or are damaged or defective or the delivery is of an incorrect quantity, we shall have no liability to you unless you notify us by email (including a digital photo if possible) of the problem within 7 working days of the delivery of the goods in question.
9.2 If you do not receive goods ordered by you within 21 days of the date on which you ordered them, we shall have no liability to you unless you notify us in writing at our contact address of the problem within 30 days of the date on which you ordered the goods. If you notify a problem to us under this condition, subject to condition 7 above, our only obligation will be, at your option:
9.2.1 to make good any shortage or non-delivery;
9.2.2 to replace or repair any goods that are damaged or defective; or
9.2.3 to refund to you the amount paid by you for the goods in question in whatever way we choose.
9.3 Save as precluded by law, we will not be liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss, damage or expenses (including loss of profits, business or goodwill) howsoever arising out of any problem you notify to us under this condition and we shall have no liability to pay any money to you by way of compensation other than to refund to you the amount paid by you for the goods in question under condition 9.2.3 above.
9.4 You must observe and comply with all applicable regulations and legislation, including obtaining all necessary customs, import or other permits to purchase goods from us. The importation or exportation of certain of our goods to you may be prohibited by certain national laws. We make no representation and accept no liability in respect of the export or import of the goods you purchase.
9.5 Notwithstanding the foregoing, nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to limit any rights you might have as a consumer under applicable local law or other statutory rights that may not be excluded nor in any way to exclude or limit our liability to you for any death or personal injury resulting from our negligence.

10. Notices
Unless otherwise expressly stated in these terms and conditions, all notices from you to us must be in writing and sent to our contact address Food Basics Ltd, 28 Queensway, London, W2 3RX and all notices from us to you will be displayed on our Website from time to time.

11. Events beyond our control
We shall have no liability to you for any failure to deliver goods you have ordered or any delay in doing so or for any damage or defect to goods delivered that is caused by any event or circumstance beyond our reasonable control including, without limitation, strikes, lock-outs and other industrial disputes, breakdown of systems or network access, flood, fire, explosion or accident.

12. Severability
If any part of these terms and conditions are found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable by a Court (including any provision in which we exclude our liability to you), the enforceability of any other part of these conditions will not be effected and remain valid to the full extent allowed by the law.

13. Privacy
You acknowledge and agree to be bound by the terms of our privacy policy.

14. Third party rights
A person who is not a party to this agreement has no right under the UK Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any term of this agreement but this does not affect any right or remedy of a third party that exists or is available apart from that Act.

15. Governing law
The contract between us shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law and the English courts shall have jurisdiction to resolve any disputes between us.The Contract shall be concluded in the English language.

16. Entire agreement
These terms and conditions set out the whole of our agreement relating to the supply of the goods to you by us. Nothing said by any sales person on our behalf should be understood as a variation of these terms and conditions or as an authorised representation about the nature or quality of any goods offered for sale by us. Save for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, we shall have no liability for any such representation being untrue or misleading.


Food Basics proudly works with UK Mail  to provide with the best possible delivery. Below are the services that we will provide with your delivery.

UK Mail will let you know when they are coming (to the hour) via SMS or Email so you can plan your day. If you are not in, you can arrange to have your parcel left with a neighbour or left in a safe place of your choice.
UK Mail ensure that your parcel will be delivered within 24hrs after despatch from our warehouse.

A GPS tracking system on the delivery van lets you know where it is and tells you how many stops the driver has before they get to you.

We also provide a cheaper alternative (My Hermes) for smaller parcels under 5kg.

1. Our intention is to collect and use any information that can be associated with you (including, for example, your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and information about your on-line activities) (“Personal Information“) as is reasonably necessary in order to enable you to make the most of the activities available on our website. We may also use your Personal Information for purposes including dealing with enquiries, tailoring our services to your requirements and preferences, and to provide you with information about us and our goods which we think may interest you.

2. If you Register for a Log In Account, your password is linked to your e-mail address. You are responsible for any use of your password or your Account. Do not allow others to use your computer or e-mail address.

As required by the Data Protection Act 1998, we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information that you have given to us, in order to prevent, as far as possible, any unauthorised access. However, we are unable to provide any guarantee that information stored by us will not be subject to unauthorised access.

We may disclose your Personal Information to others only where we are required to do so by the courts or to comply with other legal, statutory and/or regulatory obligations; to prevent and/or to detect crime; and for credit reference purposes. Payment are authorised and meet all PCI Compliancy regulations.

Please note that if you communicate with us electronically, including by e-mail, telephone or fax, this communication may be randomly monitored and/or recorded to protect the interests of our business and our customers. This includes for the purposes of maintaining customer/service quality standards, detection of and/or prevention of crime and to ensure that our employees comply with legal obligations and our policies and procedures (including our customer relations practices).

6. Cookies:A cookie is a piece of text which attaches to your hard drive and from which it can store and sometimes track information on how you make use of a website. Please note that the websites to which this site may be linked may make use of their own cookies to collect information from you. We use the data gathered by cookies to improve the quality of the site and our services to you and to provide a more interactive and personalised experience.
